The Curragh The Curragh Racecourse in Kildare is the head quarters of horse racing in Ireland since the first race took place in 1741 and one of Ireland's premier sporting venues.The Curragh is a right handed horseshoe shaped course with a circuit of two miles with no sharp bends with a straight run in of three furlongs uphill. The Curragh includes a straight mile course and two round courses.It is widely recognised as a very fair galloping track. Less than an hour from Dublin, take Exit 9 off the M50 onto the N7 southbound. Take Exit 10 off the M7. When you arrive, you’ll find plenty of free car parking.

DownRoyal Down Royal Racecourse has been hosting meetings to generations of people in Ulster since the 17th Century.The course is a right handed, one mile, seven furlong circuit with a four furlong straight and a five furlong chute. It has the largest circumference of any racecourse in Ireland. From Belfast take the M1 to Sprucefield exit. Take the 2nd exit off the roundabout and follow the dual carriageway to the top of the hill. Turn right to cross other side of carriageway before the next roundabout. Continue down Harry’s Road to crossroads and go straight through. Continue on the Aghnatrisk Road to next crossroads and turn right onto Kesh Road. Racecourse is about 2 miles further down the road.From Dublin Road to Newry (N1 South of the border) then onto the A1 Dual Carriageway to Belfast. At Hillsborough Roundabout continue as for Belfast and take the first turn to left on Harry’s Road and directions are same as above.
